Tokoroa GP 2013

April 27, 2013

Wow, what an awesome weekend that was! That was my first time visiting Tokoroa and it’s such a fun circuit, although hard on the body into those down hill sections. Huge thanks to the organisers, time keepers, flaggies, and everyone who drank beers with us on Saturday night. Congrats to everyone who raced and those who triumphed. The GP looked fierce, I was nervous before qualifying and I wasn’t even in the race!

I just wanted to point out that there were TEN, yes TEN Honda RS chassis’ at the GP (including a RS250) and not including the GPR diesel which is pretty much a RS. That’s more than a nationals round I believe…

Cheers to Glen for showing me a few improving lines during the track walk and to Cully for letting me pervertedly handle his RSGP125. On that note:

Fraser Cars 2013

Fraser Cars 2013

We took a trip out to Fraser cars here in Auckland recently to check out their factory. Fraser cars builds Lotus 7-esk cars for customers around the world and has been doing so for many many years. Neil Fraser is also a LVVTA certifier and gives the okay on vehicle modifications around Auckland.

Their factory is no less than inspiring, filled with quality tools and machines from years gone by still hammering along like the day they landed on the show room floor. Fraser cars builds predominantly Frasers but also takes on a variety of fabrication projects and when we were there, there was a Saker sport car, a t-bucket and a Toyota Celica all getting a make over.

I’ve selected the following group of photos from their factory to hopefully illustrate the atmosphere of this truly Kiwi workshop. May they continue to build ridiculous sports cars for years to come. http://www.fraser.co.nz/

Nick’s garden ornament

March 8, 2012

This thing always makes me laugh. Nick has been drifting this for a while now with nothing more than a locker, BCs and a bucket seat and well… it’s taken a bit of a beating. The last things added to it was a hydraulic handbrake, a pair of Nick S’s Rodders up front and some rack spacers. It wasn’t exactly a tidy example when it first hit the tarmac but as Nick has gotten better and it’s seen more and more track time, the body has taken a toll. I haven’t posted to many photos of it drifting because it’s not the nicest thing to look at but I think it deserves a mention now that it’s looking like something you’d find in a Motorfix field (without the cool history and back stories haha). Winter’s coming fast and hard guys, keen to see you on the track again soon before it’s all rain and penguins.

March 2, 2012

I’m back in New Zealand and gearing up to hit 2012 head on. Times are changing fast and it will be interesting to see where I end up in 6 months but expect to see more from BEEONEONEOH in the future. I’ve posted a lot on my photography blog so again, if you’re interested in surfing, Australia, photography or just enjoy seeing someone froth on life then check out my photography blog here. Cheers and thanks to everyone I met, hung out with and shared my holiday with. It was amazing.

WARNING: This video contains 4 minutes of munjis. Watch in HD.

I put this together last night from the day we all went to in December. I still have plenty more footage left that will make it into another style video for those who fizz on small NA cars. Yeah, pretty keen for some actual corners sometime soon. Anyone know if the Hampton skid pad is still as slippery as ice?

ONE MILLION VIEWS

January 8, 2012

I stopped posting daily quite some time ago now and naturally, viewing has slowed up quite a bit. Because of my lack of continuous attention, I managed to miss that BEEONEONEOH had ticked over a million views about a month ago. This blog has been going for over 4 years now and I don’t quite know how that makes me feel. It’s still very much part of my life but all I can say is that I am glad that it hasn’t taken over my life and I have been able to move consistently onto new things, new mediums.

I’d like to say thanks to those who hung around through those times of change and still took interest in the things I posted whether cars, photography or other. Whilst some mainstream monster websites may get about half a million views a week, maybe even a day for all I know, I still consider this quite an achievement. I’m interested to see where this goes and I can say that BEEONEONEOH will continue to exist for as long as I am into cars. Hopefully, between travel overseas in the next few months, I have something to show you as far as Datsuns go in New Zealand. Cheers

Delays

September 9, 2011

I’ve been having a few issues lately with hosting and firewall access to my files but I seem to have sorted out the problem. There is another problem with the files stored on my mother’s server not displaying  but I’m onto it. Nothing to interesting has been happening of late, mostly just university assignments and the odd road trip to NZ’s fine beaches. When everything is going again I will continue to post and later in the month there is a cone day at meremere so I should have some more photos to share. Cheers
