Two exciting ways to finish an even more exciting year. 1. Jump out of a plane 2. See two friends tie the knot.

The other day I cashed in a birthday present at Lake Taupo and jumped out of a plane. It was completely insane and I wanted to do it again before I even touched the ground. If I had the money lying around I would 100% learn to jump myself and get my licence. This photo was taken by Tarryn from the ground just as we pop our shoot, I’m the above spec. The airport is right next to New Zealands largest lake and thanks to a crystal day, the view was unlike I have seen before. I highly recommend giving it a try, it is one of the best things I’ve ever done and I will do it again for sure! Thanks Tarryn for the gift.

On New Years Eve two good friends of mine, Josh and Alex got married. I took the opportunity to shoot my first wedding along side their photographer and family friend. I’m pretty happy with the shots I got considering I have done nothing like it before. Although weddings are usually not my kind of thing to shoot, I enjoyed the challenge and can completely appreciate the skill involved in being a great wedding photographer. I found it amusing to feel the techniques and styles I have learnt through shooting motor sport be transferred into portraits, although the subjects are not as predictable. I would definitely be interested in doing a few more to help broaden my experience but till will tell. Congratulations to the Englands and I’ll post a few discrete photos if I may.
