I won’t lie here, I really wish this photo of Brads AE86 was taken on tarmac and not the dirty gravel. We didn’t get to spend much time with Brad unfortunately, only a night in fact before he had to jet back to New Zealand. After a loooong weekend of Autumn Matsuri we dragged ourselves up to get the biggest bowl of ramen ever and run some chores, this was one of the few photos I could grab of the car. The lumpy gravel may not make it look so but 14″ MKIIIs and 195/45s makes this little hatch squat quite nicely. Shizuoka has some wicked back road mazes and winding through them you can’t help but notice the heavy TRD suspension and tight LSD but that’s just part of the fun.

I saw more dead 86s in Japan than I have ever seen functioning 86s in my life, many just abandoned in fields and in the corners of tracks. Looking at this photo makes me stew at the thought of paying the hyper inflated price of one in New Zealand when there is a bounty of them waiting for the Brad White treatment in JP. One day I shall get to drive my own at Meihan.
